Naraoka wins in Kumamoto for first title in two years
TOKYO Japan’s Kodai Naraoka won his first badminton title in two years after battling past countryman Kenta Nishimoto 21-11, 10-21, 21-15 in the Kumamoto Masters final on Sunday. 24-year-old Naraoka Kodai (NTT East Japan) maintained his concentration and played a full game that lasted 1 hour and 13 minutes. He faced 31-year-old Nishimoto Kenta (JTEKT) in the men's singles final. He won the match against the Japanese representative from the Paris Olympics. In the first game, with the wind at his back, "his smashes were fast."
