Japan Commissions Fifth Taigei-class Submarine
Japan has commissioned its fifth Taigei-class submarine, JS Chōgei (SS-517), on March 10. Chōgei was built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries at Kobe and after being formally transferred to the JMSDF, it joined Submarine Division 2 of Flotilla 2, stationed at Yokosuka Naval Base.
