Rescue teams have reached the hardest-hit site as authorities monitor an overflow threat from a debris dam and more than 1,400 people remain missing.

- Continuing rain through the coming week threatens to destabilize soil as an eight-member engineering team builds 3D models and digs a drainage channel. Engineer Chen Hanxiao noted the terrain's difficulty, citing "isolated cliffs" along the lake.
