Corden, Jones Reunite for Their New Series The Choir
The eight-part comedy follows estranged siblings and an amateur choir, and guest stars include Hannah Waddingham, James McAvoy and Jim Broadbent.
Filming for the new Apple series 'The Choir' is underway in Lewes, with crews transforming the town into the fictional village of Alderswyck. The production, created by James Corden and Ruth Jones, is currently shooting on location.
Creators Corden and Jones, the duo behind 'Gavin & Stacey,' wrote and star in the eight-part comedy as estranged siblings Ben and Lisa. The narrative explores themes of love and human connection through an amateur community choir.
High-Profile guest stars joining the production include Hannah Waddingham, James McAvoy, and Jim Broadbent. The ensemble cast also features Jason Watkins, David Harewood, and Tom Davis, among others.
Passersby praised the transformation of a Cliffe High Street Oxfam Shop into the Alderswyck Post Office. The Town Council received payments and donations from production company VAP for the filming.
Produced for Apple by Various Artists Limited and TidyTwo, the series is set to air next year. The show will be featured in a 2027 comedy lineup following the conclusion of filming.
