JAMB Lifts SIM, Email Change Ban, Gives Candidates Fresh Directives
Candidates can now change a phone number or email once after payment, affidavit upload and biometric verification, JAMB said.
- On Monday, September 21, 2026, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board relaxed restrictions, allowing candidates to update lost phone numbers or email addresses once through biometric verification.
- Director of Communications Fabian Benjamin stated the update follows new identity and biometric verification measures designed to prevent fraud while ensuring candidates are not unnecessarily disadvantaged.
- To update details, candidates must log into their e-facility profile, pay for the service, and provide a Court Affidavit alongside new contact information for biometric verification.
- Strictly at designated JAMB CBT, PTC, or PRC Centres, the facility is available; JAMB mandates each candidate may utilize the update service only once.
- This policy accommodates candidates encountering unexpected credential access issues in future registration cycles while maintaining registration integrity across JAMB's admission processes.
