GEEZER BUTLER Joins JACK BLACK's BLACK SABBATH Cover Band For 'War Pigs' At TOM MORELLO's 'Power To The People' Festival
Black led teenage musicians through three Sabbath songs, with Geezer Butler joining for a surprise version of "War Pigs," officials said.
On Saturday, actor Jack Black performed as Jack Sabbath at the Power to the People festival in Columbia, Maryland, bringing out Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler for a cover of the classic "War Pigs."
Black led a group of teenagers, including Roman Morello and Yoyoka Soma, through a three-song set featuring Ozzy Osbourne's "Mr. Crowley" and Black Sabbath's "The Wizard" before Butler joined the stage.
Black's well-documented adoration for Ozzy Osbourne reached a peak when he inducted the rocker into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2024, calling him the "inventor of heavy metal."
Curated by Rage Against The Machine co-founder Tom Morello, the festival featured various artists including Black, Morello, and DMC of Run-DMC performing "Walk This Way" for the crowd.
Morello stated the Power to the People festival celebrates "freedom, justice, equality and rock'n'roll," bringing together music and community action to shape the planet beyond Election Day.
