Italy has signed an international plan with five other major powers to guarantee freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The opposition accuses Giorgia Meloni of dragging the country into war. Defense Minister Guido Crosetto has stressed that this is not a military offensive. Italy will only take on a peacekeeping role in the region after a ceasefire.
