The Ministry of Economy and Energy filed a complaint at the end of July regarding the state financing of Duna Aszfalt's Congo-Zambia investment.
The construction is progressing, but the Hungarian state and thus the taxpayers will not be burdened with any financial risks in the future.
Duna Aszfalt has fully repaid the loan provided by Eximbank and the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB) for the Kasomeno-Mwenda investment in Africa, Duna Aszfalt announced on its Facebook page.
The state also guaranteed a large portion of the financing during Orbán's time.
Duna Aszfalt has fully repaid the loan to Eximbank and the Hungarian Development Bank related to the financing of the Kasomeno-Mwenda project in Africa, including interest. According to the company, it has paid more than 10 billion forints in interest to state-owned banks since November last year. The transaction also terminated the state guarantee related to the project.
The road construction between Zambia and Congo was financed by both MFB and Eximbank, and the state also provided a guarantee during the Orbán era, which the new government did not like. Duna Aszfatl has now repaid the loan in full.
