As part of the anniversary of Istanbul's liberation, public transport in the city will be free. Istanbul residents will be able to benefit from bus, metro, metrobus, ferry and rail systems included in the Istanbulkart integration free of charge throughout the day.
To commemorate the anniversary of Istanbul's liberation from occupation, public transportation vehicles operated by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality will be free for one day tomorrow.
To commemorate the 103rd anniversary of Istanbul's liberation from enemy occupation, public transportation in the city will be free on Tuesday, October 6th. Buses, metro, metrobuses, ferries, and rail lines integrated with Istanbulkart will provide free service throughout the day.
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality announced that public transportation will be free on October 6, 2026, to commemorate the 103rd anniversary of Istanbul's liberation from enemy occupation. No fares will be charged on all public transportation vehicles integrated with the Istanbulkart system throughout the day.
