Israel, Huckabee slam UK foreign secretary over Gaza medicine claims
Israel’s Foreign Ministry said 22,500 tons of medical supplies have entered Gaza since the ceasefire began, rejecting Miliband’s claims as factually wrong.
On Saturday, Israel's Foreign Ministry and US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee criticized British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband for claiming medicines are being blocked from entering the Gaza Strip.
Miliband published a video describing the situation as "horrifying," alleging that "medicines being blocked from getting in" and children are dying while awaiting vital treatment.
The Foreign Ministry refuted these allegations, stating "22,500 tons of medical supplies have entered Gaza since the ceasefire began," with 200 residents leaving the Strip for medical treatment in the past two weeks.
Escalating the diplomatic friction, Huckabee wrote that "the Brits have lost it," claiming the British government's "Jew hatred knows no bounds and recognizes no facts."
Huckabee also visited the Palestinian town of Turmus Ayya on Saturday to meet families of US citizens killed by settlers, where roughly 80% of residents hold US citizenship.
