By invitation of Aylmer Robinson (1888-1967) and his brother, Lester Robinson (1901-1969), the co-owners of Niihau, Territorial Gov. Lawrence M. Judd (1887-1968) visited Niihau on October 21, 1929. Gov. Judd and his party of ten men had embarked from Honolulu Harbor aboard the lighthouse tender “Kukui” on October 20 and landed at Kii, Niihau on October 21.
