Türkiye has proposed a new mechanism for regional security. Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi announced that a four-party mechanism involving Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran could be developed as part of the goal of a "terror-free zone."

Iranian Interior Minister Mumini expressed support for the "Terror-Free Türkiye" process and called on the PKK and its affiliates to lay down their arms.
