'A Galaxy of New Star Wars Games' and More Are Coming to Fortnite to Celebrate Star Wars Day
Three new Lucasfilm and Epic games launch May 1 as creators get tools to build Star Wars islands with official characters, vehicles and locations.
- Starting May 1, Epic and Disney will launch new Star Wars games and creator tools in Fortnite, allowing developers to build experiences using curated assets from the franchise's largest IP toolset to date.
- The two companies are deepening their long-term partnership by providing creators access to iconic assets including characters Luke, Leia, and Vader, alongside vehicles X-Wings and TIE Fighters.
- Three new games launch May 1: Galactic Siege, a 10 vs 10 battle across planets; Escape Vader, a four-player cooperative game; and Droid Tycoon, where users build and customize droids.
- Starting May 19, the companies will launch The Mandalorian and Grogu Watch Party Island, a dedicated world where players can watch 10 minutes from the upcoming film.
- According to Sean Shoptaw, executive VP of Disney Games and Digital Entertainment, storytelling now lives in shared worlds, with director Jon Favreau scheduled to host an island Q&A on May 26.
