- Citing shifts in international benchmark prices and broader exchange rate fluctuations against the dollar, oil marketing companies raised rates on the first of the month. These monthly revisions reflect global energy market movements.
- ATF prices rose to Rs 137 per litre from Rs 121, representing a Rs 16 increase that particularly impacts domestic airlines where jet fuel accounts for about 35-40 per cent of total operating expenditure. This marks the third consecutive monthly rise.
- While domestic LPG prices remain unchanged at Rs 942 per 14.2-kg cylinder, commercial LPG increased by Rs 62.59 per 19-kg cylinder. The divergence offers some relief for households despite the broader inflationary pressure on commercial users.
- Separately, Delhi strengthened its 'no PUC, no fuel' policy from Thursday as a pollution measure, per official Sirsa. Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged, limiting the inflation impact to aviation fuel and commercial LPG users.
