The Consumer Price Index (CPI) advanced by 0.6% last month, reported the INE, driven by increases in food and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as transportation. International flights skyrocketed, but also raised meat and potatoes in the run-up to Fiestas Patrias.
The rate accelerated its pace compared to 0.1% in July, accumulating 4.1% to 12 months. The result was pushed by increases in food (1.4%) and transport (1.6%), highlighting increases in international air tickets (32.6%), potatoes (17.8%) and beef (3.9%).
