Indonesia Suspends Five Cibinong Prison Officials After Ombudsman Finds Luxury Housing
The ministry is investigating alleged luxury inmate facilities and possible discipline breaches after questioning 52 inmates and 54 staff members.

- Despite initial obstruction by Cibinong Prison staff who refused access to inmate quarters, inspectors eventually identified around 13 residential units separate from detention cells where high-profile corruption convicts were housed.
- Following these findings, the Imipas Ministry suspended Wisnu and four other structural officials on Saturday, September 26, pending investigation into the prison's management and alleged luxury facilities for inmates.
- "We have conducted inspections from yesterday until today, with a total of 52 inmates," Inspector General Commissioner General Rudi Setiawan said, with authorities also scheduling interviews with 54 staff members.
- The Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Affairs will impose sanctions based on Civil Servant Discipline regulations if investigators find that suspended officials violated conduct codes or engaged in misconduct.
