Indictment seeks up to 36 years for Assan Group executives in ‘espionage’ case - Turkish Minute
Prosecutors in İstanbul have filed an indictment seeking lengthy prison sentences for five executives of defense contractor the Assan Group, months after the government seized control of companies under its umbrella in an “espionage” investigation, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.
The investigation into companies allegedly engaged in military espionage activities under the name ASSAN GROUP has been completed. The indictment requests that the suspect, Emin Öner, be sentenced to a total of 17 years and 6 months to 36 years in prison for the crimes of "membership in an armed terrorist organization" and "destroying, misusing, or fraudulently obtaining or stealing documents related to state security."
