Two Indian Students Dead in Accident During Flight Training
The consulate said it will help repatriate the students’ remains and support their families after the fatal accident during flight training.
- On Sunday, the Consulate General of India in Vancouver announced the deaths of two Indian students, Shri Manoj Sivakumar and Shri Srisaran Thirugnanasambantham, from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, in a Canadian flight training accident.
- Manoj and Srisaran were undergoing flight training with a Manitoba-based flying school and air taxi provider when the fatal crash occurred during their instruction.
- Coordinating with the families, the Consulate General is offering all possible consular assistance to facilitate repatriation. "Our heartfelt sympathies are with their bereaved families and loved ones," the mission said.
- India's Ministry of External Affairs maintains dedicated Special Control Rooms and Rapid Response Cells to monitor emergencies and coordinate support for Indian nationals abroad.
- Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh recently noted that government support for citizens abroad includes evacuation operations, logistical assistance, and cross-border coordination during emergencies.
