India's Tata Electronics hit by cyber breach claiming to expose Apple, Tesla trade secrets
Tata Electronics detected a cybersecurity breach involving over 200,000 files leaked on the dark web, including confidential documents related to Apple and Tesla products, but stated their operations remain unaffected after immediate response measures.
The ransomware group responsible posted files containing proprietary information such as design specifications, emails, and employee documents labeled as trade secrets of Apple and Tesla.
Security researchers confirmed the leaked data includes emails, event logs, manufacturing specifications, and other sensitive documents related to Apple iPhone components and Tesla vehicle parts.
Apple is investigating the breach and a ransom demand received by Tata Electronics, though both companies have not publicly commented; Tesla did not respond to requests for comment.
