- Sitharaman noted this resilience was built "layer by layer" since 2014, highlighting foundational initiatives including the Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile trinity, Direct Benefit Transfer, and welfare schemes like Swachh Bharat, Ujjwala, and Ayushman Bharat.
- India navigated recent shocks with intact fundamentals, the Finance Minister citing 7.8 per cent real GDP growth in Q1 FY27, 4.82 per cent August 2026 CPI inflation, and foreign exchange reserves of about USD 766 billion.
- The Finance Minister urged the private sector to drive investments in Research & Development, noting India's 0.83% of GDP expenditure remains significantly lower than the OECD average of 2.7%.
- Citing Kautilya's Arthashastra, Sitharaman emphasized sound public finances provide the State freedom to act when conditions deteriorate, while advocating strategic autonomy through initiatives like the India Semiconductor Mission 2.0.
