Indian Airlines Plan to Resume Operations From Doha as Fragile Ceasefire Holds in West Asia
Air India, Air India Express, and IndiGo will resume full operations at Hamad International Airport in Doha starting May 1, 2026, reconnecting Doha with major Indian cities.
The resumption follows a two-month disruption caused by Operation Epic Fury, a joint US-Israeli military campaign launched on February 28, 2026, which escalated regional conflict and impacted air traffic.
Qatari airspace was mostly closed to commercial flights during this period, with limited emergency and evacuation services at Hamad International Airport.
A fragile ceasefire brokered in mid-April and extended by US President Donald Trump has allowed commercial insurers to approve the return of international carriers, enabling the phased restoration of flight operations.
