India wins toss and opts to bat against West Indies in third ODI
India have already sealed the series 2-0, and debutant Anshul Kamboj is set to play as Shubman Gill seeks a clean sweep.
On Saturday, India captain Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to bat first against the West Indies at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in the third ODI.
Having already secured the three-match series 2-0, India aims to test its bowling attack by defending a total. Gill cited the need for greater exposure to improve the team's defensive capabilities.
India handed Anshul Kamboj his ODI debut, while recalling Nitish Kumar Reddy and Mohammed Siraj. The West Indies responded with three changes: Jewel Andrew, Matthew Forde, and Gudakesh Motie.
The match marks the first men's ODI hosted at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium, which becomes the 52nd venue in India to stage the format.
Gill intends to consult selectors regarding World Cup squad composition, balancing the need to test bench strength with maintaining the team's momentum after winning the first two matches.
