India and Pakistan to clash in pool phase at 2027 Cricket World Cup
India will also face Australia and Afghanistan in Group A, with the top three teams advancing to the Super 7 stage.
On Thursday, the International Cricket Council unveiled the 2027 Cricket World Cup schedule, with the tournament co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia featuring 14 teams across 12 venues and 57 matches.
Group A includes India, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, and a qualifier, setting up a rematch of the 2023 final between India and the defending champions in the group stage.
India begins its campaign against Australia on October 7, 2027, in Cape Town, then faces Pakistan three days later at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, nicknamed the 'Bullring' for its intense atmosphere.
Following group matches, the top teams advance to a Super 7 phase before semifinals on November 17 and 18. The final is scheduled for November 21 at the DP World Wanderers Stadium.
The event officially commences on October 2, 2027, with the Super Series in Windhoek, Namibia, determining the final qualifier before the 12-team group stage begins.
