India Joins US, 24 Other Nations in Global Initiative to Shape Next-Generation 6G Networks
India has joined the United States and 24 other nations in a global initiative to develop and deploy next-generation 6G telecommunications networks, as announced by the US Department of Commerce.
At the G20 Innovation Ministers meeting in North Carolina, Jitin Prasada led the Indian delegation and participated in bilateral talks about cooperation in semiconductors, AI, and data centres.
US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Jitin Prasada discussed advancing critical technology sectors foundational to the emerging digital economy and fostering increased cooperation and investment in technologies such as ISM2.0 and AI safeguards.
The joint initiative aims to ensure that next-generation networks reflect shared security interests, improve competitiveness, and foster 6G innovation through strengthened collaboration between India and the US.
