"Three individuals were detained and nine placed under judicial supervision," announced the Amiens Public Prosecutor's Office and the gendarmerie on Wednesday in a joint press release.
According to the prosecutor of the Republic of Amiens, this is "the biggest seizure of its kind for the gendarmerie of Picardie".
The justice system has revealed an international trafficking of counterfeit cigarettes, via a network that was radiating in Belgium, in the North but also in Picardy, announces the Amiens prosecutor's office this Wednesday. 12 people have been charged, nearly six tons of tobacco seized by the military and customs.
