Frustrating the inertia of a government faced with a second wave of heat in two months, the Green MP and former Minister called for urgent action and for these extreme events to be considered increasingly frequent as major civil security issues.
According to the government, most of the measures of the national plan to adapt to climate change are committed. The latter is criticized for its lack of structural elements and means, while temperatures of up to 40 °C are expected in France in the next few days.
Monique Barbut, Minister of Environmental Transition, presented Wednesday, June 17, a "first review" of the national plan for adaptation to global warming, while several departments are on heat alert.
