About 65,000 people, including 22,100 children, have been affected by floods in the districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Tanahun, Nepal
"The water supply systems and sanitation infrastructure have been damaged or destroyed. Families who have left the disaster areas are forced to live in homes of local residents and temporary accommodations, which creates conditions that increase the risk of outbreaks of infectious diseases and water-borne diseases", the statement notes.

More than a week after flash floods struck the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli river basin in Nepal, at least 22,000 children urgently need safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene support, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said on Thursday.
