Based on a complaint filed by a student, the 63-year-old man was evicted from the management of the institution. He was heard by the police on Monday, 5 October and contests the charges against him.
The religious had been evicted in early September from the leadership of the Catholic institution. He "strongly challenged" the accusations of rape made by a major student.
Father Jean-Bernard Plessy, former director of the prestigious Lyon Catholic school group of the Chartreux, was placed in custody after a student's complaint for aggravated rape.
According to World reports, the former director of the Institution des Chartreux was placed in police custody as part of the investigation for aggravated rape. Father Plessy is suspected of having exercised control to obtain sexual relations from a student. On 2 September last, the archbishop of Lyons removed him from office.
The former superior of the well-known Catholic school is suspected of having exercised influence to obtain sexual relations from a student for several months. He had been removed from office by Archbishop Olivier de Germay after the disclosure of the case.
