- On Sunday, displaced families in Lebanon, including Mohammad Marie and Hussain Murtada, sought makeshift shelter in trucks and under trees as heavy rain fell, unable to find space in overcrowded public facilities.
- More than 800,000 people, around 15% of Lebanon's population, have fled their homes since Israel began an offensive against the Lebanese Hezbollah group on March 2, dragging the country into broader Middle East tensions.
- Israeli attacks have killed 850 people and wounded more than 2,100 others since March 2, according to the Lebanese health ministry, including 107 children and 66 women.
- The United Nations launched a $308 million flash appeal on Friday to assist Lebanon, as only 132,000 displaced people occupy collective shelters while the majority remain scattered in streets and host communities.
- Murtada, who fled the town of Hanawiya, said, "I just want a shelter for me and the children," as families endure persistent rain in unsafe, makeshift conditions with no relief in sight.
