For the inauguration of the restoration work of the Genoese tower of the Parata, a visit to the building was organized by the joint union of the Grand Site on Saturday, June 20th. The opportunity to admire the view and the construction built in 1550-1551, which is part of the network of guets implanted along the island coasts to defend the inhabitants of the barbaric invasions.
After a year of restoration work, the Parata tower was officially inaugurated this Saturday morning. Symbolic symbol of the Gulf of Ajaccio, this Genoese tower has been the subject of several years of studies and archaeological excavations. Weared by the City of Ajaccio, the Great Site of the Parata and the Community of Corsica, this site preserves an exceptional heritage dating from the sixteenth century and transmits it to future generations. …
