Marc Benioff Tells AI Companies to Regulate Themselves or Face Lawsuits
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff told Fortune at Dreamforce that AI companies should regulate themselves or face lawsuits under existing product liability law, comparing their accountability to car manufacturers. His stance breaks from Nvidia's Jensen Huang and JD Vance, who both argue against new AI oversight, while Anthropic's Dario Amodei pushes the opposite direction.
Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, asked artificial intelligence companies to take responsibility for the damage they may cause and warned that they would otherwise face lawsuits.
