Images of youth suspected in GTA synagogue shootings released
York Regional Police and TPS released photos on Friday of a male youth suspect in two synagogue shootings across the GTA, seeking public assistance in identifying him.
Investigators determined the same individual is responsible for shootings at the Beth Avraham Yoseph in Vaughan and the Shaarei Shomayim in Toronto, which occurred hours apart in March with no injuries reported.
The suspect is described as a male youth standing approximately six feet to six-feet-two with a thin build and black curly hair, driving an older black four-door Honda Civic.
Authorities obtained a court order to publish the suspect's image, and anyone with information is asked to contact York Regional Police or TPS immediately.
The shootings drew widespread condemnation, prompting police to step up patrols around Jewish neighborhoods and places of worship in response to the incidents that occurred in March.
