Iberdrola has increased the energy storage capacity of the Tagus River with technological improvements at its Valdecañas (Cáceres) pumping plant, whose commissioning allows to raise the total capacity of the system with 355 megawatts (MW) of power and 210 gigawatt hours of additional storage (GWh), reinforcing the integration of renewable energies and the stability of the electricity supply, the company reported.
