The United Nations agency, based in Montreal, Canada, marked the 10th anniversary of the approval, on October 6, 2016, of the Carbon Compensation and Reduction Plan for International Aviation (CORSIA), which classified it as the first global market-based measure adopted by an economic sector to address carbon emissions.
