- On Saturday, police arrested District Congress Committee member Anil Kumar, also known as Chenthi Ani, for allegedly obstructing Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan's convoy on Friday in Thiruvananthapuram.
- Tensions arose because the Chief Minister missed a Chenthi Sree Narayana Cultural Centre Charitable Society event which organizers claim he had accepted; his office stated they provided advance notice of his unavailability.
- According to the FIR, the accused aggressively questioned the Chief Minister and threatened, "What will you do if I get angry?" while obstructing police duties under BNS Sections 126, 351, and 132.
- Following the arrest, DCC president N. Sakthan stated that the party would suspend Ani today, and authorities confirmed he remains in custody and is expected to be produced in court later Saturday.
- Police are examining videos to identify others involved in the incident, while the DCC leadership rejected claims of internal factionalism, asserting that no such split exists within the party ranks.
