Gabriel Călin, a journalist and current leader of the Union of Moldova's Crestin-Social Union (UCSM), was arrested for 30 days, accused of electrical corruption and money laundering. The verdict was delivered by the Court of Justice in Chisinau.
Former journalist Gabriel Călin, suspected to have converted cryptomonde and used money from the Russian Federation for the illegal financing of political activities, will spend the next 30 days in a preventive arrest. The decision was taken on 2 October of the Chişinău Court of Justice, the Ciocan Chamber, at the request of prosecutors.
Iurie Marginanu, lawyer of Gabriel Călin, president of the formation "Crestin-Social Union of Moldova", says his client complains innocently and claims that "he's already alive when he's defeated Plato". The prosecutors seek preventive arrest for Gabriel Călin, who has the reputation of the association of the Xor group, is accused of illegal financing of his party and money laundering.
