Hyundai’s Big and Bold New 2027 Tucson SUV Is Almost Here, and We Have All the Specs
Hyundai says the fifth-generation crossover adds 10 million global sales history, a new infotainment system and a hybrid that can reach 42 mpg.
Hyundai unveiled the redesigned 2027 Tucson, the fifth generation of its bestselling compact crossover, introducing a boxier 'Art of Steel' exterior design with dimensions 2.4 inches longer and 1.6 inches wider.
Since its 2004 debut, the automaker has sold 10 million units worldwide, with over 235,000 Tucsons sold in the U.S. alone during 2025, fueling the brand's commitment to substantial redesigns.
Inside, the crossover features a 'two-layered instrument panel design' with a 12.9-inch central touchscreen and a 9.9-inch digital cluster running on the new Pleos Connect infotainment software.
Hyundai replaced the naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter engine with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, while the new U.S.-exclusive XRT Pro trim includes 1.1 inches of additional ground clearance.
The 2027 Tucson launches in South Korea later this year before arriving in the U.S. next year, though the plug-in hybrid model is being discontinued in the U.S. market.
