Hyundai Launches SDV with AI-Powered Pleos Connect
Hyundai says the system’s AI assistant can handle multiple commands at once and the app market will support third-party services.
Hyundai Motor Group unveiled Pleos Connect, its next-generation infotainment system featuring a 17-inch central display and Gleo AI assistant. The system marks the automaker's 'first tangible step' toward software-defined vehicle architecture.
This initiative follows a major leadership reshuffling within the Advanced Vehicle Platform Division, aiming to accelerate the company's shift toward software-defined vehicles and AI-defined vehicles . The launch represents a strategic pivot in Hyundai's digital transformation efforts.
Pleos Connect features a modular interface with an 'App Market' for external services, while Gleo AI processes conversational context and multiple commands at once. Users can 'navigate there,' adjust climate settings, or search the web via voice recognition.
Hyundai plans to debut the system on the facelifted Grandeur sedan in Korea in May, followed by global rollout including the all-new Ioniq 3. The company targets around 20 million vehicles across its brands by 2030.
To support development, Hyundai introduced Pleos Playground, a platform providing tools for creating vehicle-optimized applications. Through OTA updates, the system will evolve with new capabilities and personalized services as it matures.
With AI, improved voice assistant and simplified operation, Hyundai's new infotainment system will be available. It will come to us at the end of the year at the earliest.
