Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster Bring Broadway Energy to Met Gala Debut
The Broadway stars made their Met Gala debut as a couple, with Foster wearing a shimmering gold gown and Jackman in a classic tuxedo.
On Monday, May 4, Australian actor Hugh Jackman and US actress Sutton Foster made their Met Gala debut, walking the red carpet arm-in-arm at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
The Broadway stars, who first costarred in the 2022 revival of The Music Man, confirmed their romance in January 2025 and made their Hollywood debut at the Song Sung Blue premiere in October 2025.
Jackman wore a classic black and white tuxedo by Armani, while Foster opted for a sparkling, one-shoulder gold gown matching the 'Fashion is Art' dress code.
Both actors began dating amid personal transitions following recent divorces: Jackman finalized his separation from Deborra-Lee Furness after 27 years of marriage, while Foster ended her 10-year marriage to Ted Griffin in October 2024.
The gala, co-chaired by tennis legend Venus Williams and Anna Wintour, celebrated fashion as an art form according to the Met Costume Institute, drawing prominent couples including Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor.
