The International Energy Agency (IEA) has urged consumers to work from home and shift from cars to public transportation to cut fuel use amid turmoil in the oil market caused by the Iran war and its fallout in the Middle East. In one report, the AIE presented 10 "expected" measures, in particular to combat the use of private transportation, which can save up to six million barrels per day.
Measures arise as a response to the major disruption of supply in the history of the global oil market and cover road transport, air travel, kitchen and industry. AIE points out that governments can lead by example.
The International Energy Agency has listed on Friday several measures that "have proven their effectiveness in different contexts", in order to "help alleviate the shock" that the war in the Middle East is putting on prices.
