Local residents faced off against the Municipality of Amsterdam on Tuesday in an attempt to have the permit for the popular Fabel Friet revoked. It is acknowledged that there is "enormous pressure" on the residential environment, but the municipality considers revocation to be too drastic a measure.
The story of Fabel Friet is well-known by now: since 2022, when the chip shop went viral on TikTok, tourists have been inseparable from it. Local residents living near the branch on Runstraat claim to experience a great deal of nuisance as a result.
