The case concerns a Spanish passenger who had purchased a ticket online for an internal flight operated by Vueling Airlines. At Madrid airport he had then added the baggage transport service, which was lost and, for this reason, had requested compensation before the judge of Fuenlabrada

The EU Court ruled that buying an online ticket does not give the passenger court at his home and establishes case law throughout the EU. The EU Court ticket gives the reason for Vueling: buying the online ticket does not fix the passenger court first appears on Merca2.

A plane ticket purchased from home, via the internet, does not automatically give the passenger the right to call the airline in court at the court in the locality where he lives.
