UK Travel Company Enters Liquidation After 10 Years with No New Bookings Offered
The Abingdon-based holiday provider has stopped taking bookings after a winding-up resolution, with latest accounts showing £41,490 in creditor debts.
Abingdon-Based travel firm Firefly Holidays has entered voluntary liquidation after 10 years of operation, with The Gazette confirming a voluntary winding-up order was agreed on August 7.
Launched in 2016, Firefly established a strong following by organizing high-quality trips across Europe, including ski and camping resorts, and featured in the Sunday Times Best 100 Holidays.
Despite challenges like Brexit, 99 per cent of surveyed customers expressed willingness to rebook, though the firm's latest Companies House accounts to March 31, 2025, reported creditors of £41,490.
Firefly confirmed it is no longer taking bookings, stating, "After 10 fantastic years, Firefly Holidays is no longer taking bookings," while offering to assist customers with travel advice.
This closure reflects a wider trend among UK-based travel companies in 2026, as firms including Ascend Airways, EcoJet Airlines, and Zenith Aviation Limited have recently ceased trading or entered administration.
