Henry Erasmus Cease: Butler County Farmer, Civic Leader and Family Man - Butler County Times-Gazette

Henry Erasmus Cease was born near Augusta on January 13, 1874, to V. A. and Emma (Bowlden) Cease. Emma was a native of England. They came to Butler County in 1872 where V. A. homesteaded a quarter section of land just north of Gordon. He engaged in farming and stock raising until his death in 1880. Emma survived him for a number of years and passed away in 1910.
