Lisa Kudrow Amends Her Criticism of Ross Geller After ‘Friends’ Hot Take Goes Viral
Kudrow said Ross was a bad boyfriend and said Rachel should not have taken him back after the show’s long-running breakup debate resurfaced.
On Thursday, May 7, Lisa Kudrow appeared on The View to amend her recent viral comments regarding Ross Geller, whom she previously called a 'bad boyfriend' for his behavior toward Rachel Green.
Kudrow sparked debate after telling Jimmy Fallon that Ross was 'horrible,' arguing his dismissive attitude toward Rachel's career—not infidelity—was the true issue during their separation in The One With The Morning After.
The 62-year-old noted that while she previously defended the 'on a break' status, she now believes Rachel should not have reconciled with him, stating, 'She shouldn't have gotten back together with him, because he was horrible.'
Clarifying her stance, Kudrow acknowledged that Ross improved by the series' end, eventually supporting Rachel's move to Paris, and agreed their ending was happy, noting, 'She loves him. No she's not going to Paris, yeah.'
Reflecting on the show's 236 episodes, Kudrow recalled behind-the-scenes moments with the late Matthew Perry, including a humorous interaction involving Sean Penn during the filming of the Halloween episode.
