Shelter-in-Place Lifted, Suspect Arrested After Harvard Square Incident
Police said no injuries were reported as Harvard and Cambridge officers searched for a man accused of brandishing a knife, and the suspect is now in custody.

- Police initiated the search after receiving reports that just before 9 a.m., "an individual brandished an edged weapon at a coffee shop in Harvard Square."
- HUPD issued the initial shelter-in-place order at 9:45 a.m., sending four alerts as the search was "ongoing" and moved to the areas of "Mt. Auburn, Ash and Hawthorne Street."
- Cambridge Police Department director of communications Jennie Lopez confirmed no injuries occurred during the incident, and the suspect remains in Massachusetts State Police custody pending charges.
- Students are scheduled to begin the first day of fall classes on Wednesday, while authorities continue their investigation into the incident that prompted the temporary lockdown.
