Half of the heat deaths that have occurred during the summer in the Canary Islands have occurred when, paradoxically, it had already ended. By mid-September, an embarrassing episode of high temperatures had a widespread impact on the entire archipelago, causing a total of 70 deaths, 12 more than those recorded between June, July and August.
