György Cserhalmi will receive the Grand Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit on August 20, while in recent years he has not exactly become known for his diplomatic statements. The National Actor has expressed his opinions on public and cultural figures on several occasions. According to Prime Minister Péter Magyar, the Kossuth and Béla Balázs Award-winning artist, in addition to his acting career, also wrote himself into Hungarian history when he read out the 12 points of the then opposition in front of the Hungarian Television building in 1989.
