Gunfire on Antioch Pike hits, kills one person inside store
Homicide detectives are investigating after a 55-year-old Frito-Lay employee was struck in the head by a bullet that passed through a store wall.
On Sept 6, 2026, a bullet fired from outside the Sam's Club on Antioch Pike penetrated a metal wall and struck 55-year-old Frito-Lay employee Paris Carlock in the chip aisle, fatally wounding him.
Metro Nashville Police Department investigators report the shooting stemmed from an argument inside the nearby Lavo Lounge; after security removed those involved, the dispute continued outside, resulting in the gunfire.
Carlock was conducting product inventory in the chip aisle when the projectile struck him in the head. First responders transported the Murfreesboro resident to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The Metro Nashville Police Department Homicide Unit launched an investigation with no arrests announced. Authorities asked anyone with information about the gunfire or vehicles to call Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
Callers may remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward. Investigators continue pursuing leads to identify the shooter and resolve the case.
