This is the second student suicide within six days at Marwari University in Rajkot. Following the death of Hemant Gandamane, a third-year computer science student from Andhra Pradesh, the ABVP staged a protest at the university. Clashes broke out between police and activists during the protest. Police reported that some activists were injured and detained in the police action.
